For those of you that are not familiar with me; allow me to introduce myself. I am Charles Winston. I was born into a family of jewelers and diamantaires. I believe I am at least the 4th or 5th generation of my family to be in the jewelry business.
I followed in my father’s footsteps, learning about diamonds, including how to grade for color and clarity from the time I was about 12 years old. I started my own jewelry company about 1981. In 1994, I appeared on a television shopping network in Canada… and my television shopping career began!
I love all jewelry and gems… but I am partial to Moissanite. The absolute beauty that explodes from the soul of the stone is almost unexplainable in words. You truly must witness and experience it for yourself. Today, you have so many choices of jewels to select from when you want to put on the bling! They are all great choices. You have diamonds, Moissanite or Bella Luce.
In my opinion, if you can afford it; Moissanite is the best choice. Why? The scientific verbiage is related to the “double refractive index.” In my terms, it is the stone with the most bling. Let me explain.
Both diamonds and Bella Luce have very similar properties when it comes to the sparkle and shine that comes from the stones. Again, they are very beautiful and always a great choice. However, Moissanite blows the competition out of the water when it comes to the sparkle, shine, brilliance and fire!
In lay terms, a double refractive index causes the light that enters into the top of the stone to be magnified by 2x the light that entered the stone. The properties of the jewel actually gives back more light than entered the stone.
The light is then separated into all the colors of the spectrum, thus giving you more sparkle than a diamond or Bella Luce piece could ever give. Again, I am not knocking either. For those of you that know me; you realize that my love of diamonds and Bella is unsurpassed by anyone. But there is no denying the fact that Moissanite simply gives the biggest and brightest display of fire, brilliance and lustre.
What I attempt to do is create designs that will utilize that brilliance and fire with my Moissanite styles. That is why I focus on bridal styles and styles that use larger stones. I bring you what I feel are believable sizes of stones; from ½ carat diamond equivalent weights up to and including 4 carat diamond equivalent weights. I realize that for some the 2 carat and larger stones may not be in their “believable” category, but for many, it is. We strive to bring something for everyone…from all walks of life. If you already own Moissanite, you understand what I am talking about. If you have not experienced Moissanite yet, I urge you to join me this weekend on JTV. You can learn more about Moissanite here.
I will be on the air for 6 shows this weekend. Make it a plan. Join me this weekend and I promise, if nothing else, I will educate and entertain you like no other.
